Product Description
Type vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name Conklin "All Metal"
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, USA -- Circa 1920s.
Length 4-7/8"
Filling System Lever filler. We have fully restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Silver plated cap and body. There's an imprint on the barrel that says "rolled gold", but the color doesn't look gold at all, so we think this is a misprint, and our Conklin reference book confirms they made pens in silver plate. There is a chasing pattern of lengthwise lines alternating with zig-zag lines. The section is smooth but the cap and barrel have the chased pattern.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE 14k Toledo nib. It flexes easily but doesn't yield a lot of line variation, just fine to medium. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is an impressive shiny, shimmery pen in a sleek design. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and microscratching throughout. There is some brassing on the section just behind the nib. The cap has light with some moderate scratching near the top. The clip has some brassing along the edges. The imprints are clear.
