Product Description
Type Crescent filling vintage fountain pen with a fully flexible nib.
Product Name Crescent, Model 20P (the imprint reads "Trade Mark 20P" at the end of the barrel). The 2 indicates nib size, and the P indicates a short pen.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in USA -- 1920s.
Length 4-5/16".
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
Color Black chased hard rubber with gold filled trim and crescent. 1/4" gold cap band.
Nib MEDIUM FLEXIBLE Conklin #2 Toledo gold nib. Line variation from fine to broad. There's a hairline crack at the base of the nib, running thru the C, which is stable and will not get worse with normal writing and flexing, but the nib and feed should not be pulled, as that could certainly cause the crack to get worse, and it will void your ability to return the pen for a refund. See our writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a small crescent filler pen that has a lot of gold trim and that is made of black chased hard rubber. Some of the chasing has worn and faded out but it is visible. The color has mellowed to a dark chocolate brown. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. It has some small, deep scratch marks at the end of the barrel. The crescent looks nice and shiny. It has small scratches along the top edge. The cap has light scratching. The cap band has one small dent and otherwise light microscratching. The clip has a few small dots of pitting near the top edge and near the end. The imprints are clear.
