Product Name Crescent 40 as identified by the imprint at the end of the barrel. 4 is for nib size; 0 means no bands.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in Toledo, Ohio -- 1920s.
Length 5-1/2" long. This is one of the larger Crescents.
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with a gold filled crescent and clip.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Conklin Toledo #4 nib. Strong line variation extra fine to double broad. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large, impressive pen that has retained its deep, dark color. The chasing on the cap is perfect; the barrel chasing pattern is slightly worn down but still quite clear. Very slight marks on the barrel from capping. The imprint is faded, but still readable. the lock ring has faded to a dark olive color. The crescent has some brassing along the top of the hump. The clip looks beautiful. The imprints are clear.
