Product Name Crescent 40 as identified by the imprint at the end of the barrel. 4 is for nib size; 0 means no bands.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, made in Toledo, Ohio -- 1920s.
Length Just over 5-5/16 inches. This is one of the larger Crescents.
Filling System Crescent filler. We've restored it with a new sac and its working very well.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) with a gold filled crescent and clip.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Conklin Toledo #4 nib. Line variation extra fine to medium. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large, impressive pen that has retained its deep, dark color and that has perfectly intact chasing. The only scratches are some small ones at the end of the barrel. The crescent and clip look beautiful. The imprints are clear.
