Product Description
Type Lever filling vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name Three-fifty Flat Top. This is the later, slightly longer version of the Three-fifty.
Manufacturer and Year Conklin, Toledo Ohio, circa 1929
Length 4-7/8" (The earlier Three-fifty pens were a 1/4 inch shorter.)
Filling System Lever filler. We've replaced the sac and it works great.
Color Red pyroxilin, with a black section. Pyroxilin is a nitrocellulose so it is in the celluloid family. Gold plated trim. Someone has hand-etched (scratched in) the initials "R S H" on the cap and barrel.
Nib Fine flexible Toledo nib. Line variation from fine to broad. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a small, shiny pen, in a great color with small lever and clip. The cap and barrel have light scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and light scratching. Someone has lightly scratched the initials "R S H" above the imprint and again to the left of the clip -- luckily, this was done lightly and so you really need to look for it. The cap has light scratching. The cap band looks nice with a tad of plating wear and a small blotch of pitting. The clip looks great with a dot of plating wear at the end. The imprints are clear.
