Type Lever fill fountain pen
Product Name Model 388
Manufacturer and Year Conway Stewart, Made in England, 1950-5
Filling System Lever filler. We restored it with a new sac and it's working perfectly.
Color Blue and black marble, gold plated trim, with black end caps. Three cap bands -- two thin ones on the outside and one thicker one in the center.
Nib MEDIUM semi-flexible Conway Stewart 14k nib. Please see writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks. This is a beautifully colored, dark, shiny pen that is in a classic design pattern. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip and moderate scratching especially near the end. The lever has brassing and plating wear on the edges. The cap has light scratching all over, and some shallow bite marks near the top. The three cap bands have microscratching but they look nice and golden. The clip and clip ring have brassing, some plating wear, and a little bit of pitting. The top cap piece has faded a bit to a brown color. The imprint is faded, but still mostly readable.
