Product Description
Type Fountain pen with round stone base
Product Name Unknown product number, as the label is gone.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer USA, circa 1931.
Length Pen is 7-1/2" long; round base is 3" in diameter and about 1" tall. It has a felt bottom.
Filling System Lever-filler, working well.
Color Black pen. The base is black stone with veins of white and caramel, possibly Italian marble. The trumpet has a 1/8" gold band just below the opening, and there is a matching band on the pen's barrel.
Nib FINE two-toned 14k #5 Feather Touch nib. Excellent condition, very smooth and springy.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen has handwear and microscratching. The color is slightly faded, but is overall still quite dark and even. Both bands (pen barrel and trumpet) look great, no brassing or plating wear. There are small bits of brassing and plating wear on the lever. Barrel imprint is clear and easily readable. The base is in great condition; there are a few irregularities, some of which are simply due to the character of natural stone. The felt on the bottom is a bit rough and moth-eaten, but largely intact.
