Color Sterling in a crosshatch diamond pattern, with gold plated trim. This is the elongated grid pattern that matches the cartridge converter version of the Silver Imperial. You can see the difference between the square and elongated grid patterns in the photos, below.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a classic ballpoint pen with great styling. The elongated diamonds are all intact with crisp black outlining. There are some little dots of plating wear on the barrel where it meets the cap. There is pitting along the sides of the top of the clip. The clip has microscratching and some mini dots of plating wear near the end. The white dot is lovely. The imprints are clear. You'll see a short dark slash at the top of the cap to the left of the clip ... this seems to be a mark made at the factory, and then they colored it in with the black paint!
This pen is on the left ... the earlier version is on the right.
