Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Gold Seal ... note that the gold seal double check emblem has been "punched" which had something to do with removing the warranty. These frequently are seen with Warranted nib, another mechanism used to undermine the warranty, however this pen still has its Gold Seal nib.
Manufacturer and Year Wahl USA - 1920s
Length 5-3/8". This is the standard verson, in between the oversized and the slender full length mdels.
Filling System Lever filler.
Color Rosewood ebonite. The cross section view on the ends of the pen is pretty cool. The trim is gold filled.
Nib MEDIUM 14k nib, marked "Wahl Eversharp 14k Gold Seal Manifold." The nib is firm and has good tipping material.
Condition Very Good condition. The cap lip has two cracks, and we've included closeup shots in the pictures. These do not extend beyond the lower cap ring. There is also a crack in the cap to the right of the clip, that extends upward from the breather hole for about an inch. The color of the pen is excellent, very shiny and even. There are capping marks near the threads. The end of the barrel has some dents and toothmarks. The clip looks good, with no brassing or plating wear. There is brassing on the edges of the cap bands, as well as on the lever. Double-check seal is punched.
