Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Unknown.
Manufacturer and Year Diamond Medal, Chicago, Ill. -- 1920s.
Length 4-7/16 inches, not including the ring top hardware.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Jade green celluloid with gold plated trim, black ends, and thin bands of a cream color between the jade and the black ends. The wide 7/16-inch cap band is custom, with a round plate on it in an interesting H design in a beautiful blue color (see photos below). The barrel and cap have discolored to a slightly more brownish hue.
Nib FINE firm Diamond Medal #5 14k nib is smooth with lovely tipping material.
Condition Very nice condition, no cracks or chips. There's one small dent on the edge of the cap band, and, as mentioned above, the pen has discolored a bit over the years. There are some very minor scratches and marks on the cap and barrel, and tiny spots of light plating wear here and there on the trim. The imprint is very clear and easily readable. We've fully restored the pen and it's working very well.
As mentioned above, the cap band is custom, with a large H design (see photos below). We see this model with the oriental-style letters fairly often.
