Product Description
Type eyedropper fountain pen.
Product Name Safety Clip Fountain Pen
Manufacturer and Year New Diamond Point, made in USA -- Early 1900s and potentially late 1800s.
Length 5-3/16, quite slender.
Filling System Eyedropper filler. We cleaned and tested it and it's working very well. We will send instructions and recommendations for usage as well as some silicone grease and an eyedropper.
Color Black chased hard rubber (BCHR) barrel and smooth black hard rubber (BHR) cap. It has a silver colored metal accommodation clip called a "safety clip" by Diamond Point.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM 14k nib. It is smooth and the tines spread easily. The pen puts down very wet lines for strong line variation. Please see the writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. There are some pitting marks in the clip that have filled in with black. We tried to polish it out but only got so far. There are also lots of fine scratches and marks on the cap because the clip shifts easily. Otherwise the pen looks just about new. The chasing is perfect and the pen is a nice dark black. The barrel imprint is crisp. It ships in original Diamond Point box with paperwork and red feather. The advice in the paperwork on how to maintain a fountain pen is timeless.
