Product Description
Type Vintage fountain pen.
Product Name Esterbrook Pastels, 1st Generation (black jewels)
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, USA - 1954-57
Length 4-3/8"
Filling System The pen is a lever filler, which we have restored with a new sac. It's working great.
Color Pastel yellow with chrome trim and black end jewels.
Nib #1555 Firm Fine ("Gregg") nib. Gregg was a shorthand expert and you'll find their imprint on nibs that they felt were suitable for shorthand.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a pretty, dainty pen. Both the cap and barrel have microscratching and some dark dots and lines. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The imprints are clear.
The Purse/Pastel pens and pencils were made with a more fragile plastic than other Esterbrook pens, and it's common to find cracks in the cap lips, but there are none here. Because of this, we suggest that you do not post the pen, or use extreme caution in doing so.
