Product Description
Type Lever filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Transitional J Pen.
Manufacturer and Year Esterbrook, made in USA -- circa 1944-8.
Length 4-9/16 inches.
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black body and cap with chrome plated trim. It has the single rounded jewel and flat barrel end, as well as a clip with Esterbrook stamped in it.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE Esterbrook No. 2048 "Falcon" steel nib is new old stock and fairly smooth. Please note that we only consider these to be semi-flex, though they are generally sought after for their flex. When you flex, you do get some feedback from the interior edges of the nib, so you'll get better results from a good lubricating ink such as the Noodlers' "Eel" series.
Condition Very nice condition. No chips, dings, dents, personalization, or plating wear. There's some very light cosmetic cracking on the end of the barrel but it does not affect the pen's functionality. There's some scratching and handwear on the cap and barrel. The imprint is a bit worn but mostly readable. The pen has been fully restored and working well.
