Product Description
Type Fountain pen set
Product Name Skyline
Manufacturer and Year Eversharp, USA -- 1940s.
Length The fountain pen measures 5-1/4" and the pencil measures 5-1/4".
Filling System The fountain pen has a lever filling system. We replaced the sac and it's working well. The pencil has a clicker mechanism to extend and retract the leads. The depresser is a little stiff, but it works. It takes 1.1mm or "thick" leads.
Color Grey caps and barrels. Gold filled trim.
Nib FLEXIBLE MEDIUM 14k nib. It's got tons of tipping and feels smooth. It has nice line variation. See writing sample below.
Condition This set is in excellent + condition. Both pieces include original paper price labels on the barrel (partial on the pen) and they come in a cardboard, tweed patterned box with cloth interior. The fountain pen has horizontal line marks where the cap fits over the barrel. Otherwise, it has just some fine scratch lines, and a few long, thin scratches. The lever has scratch marks and some plating wear along the edges. A portion of the original paper price band is on the barrel just above the lever. The cap has a chip under the Eversharp imprint just under the gold cap; otherwise, it is in great condition. The trim pieces on the cap are all shiny and nice. The mechanical pencil has some light scratching especially under the trim ring. The pencil cap has a scratch mark to the right of the end of the clip. The trim on the cap looks nice. No cracks, dents, dings or personalization.
