Manufacturer and Year Gold Bond -- circa 1930s. This is one of the best quality "second tier" makers, and becoming more collectible. They were one of the National Pen Products brands which included Diamond Medal, which might explain the Diamond Medal nib.
Length 5-5/16". Full length but slim.
Filling System Lever Filler. Restored and working well. Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
Nib FINE 14k Diamond Medal #2 nib, firm with no flex.
Color Black with cream color trim bands near the top of the cap and the end of the barrel, and gold plated trim. Thick 1/4" gold cap band. Personalization on the cap, "William Thornthwaite."
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen with stylish cream color contour bands near the top of the cap and the end of the barrel. It is an elegant looking pen. The cap and barrel have moderate scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The cap has a personalization, "William Thornthwaite." The lever has brassing, tiny scratches, and some plating wear. The wide cap band has scratches and a thin line of brassing on the lower edge. The clip has plating wear on the ball end as well as moderate microscratching. The imprint has some scratches over it, but it is readable.
