Product Description
Type Fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Unknown, #2 nib so we're calling it a #2.
Manufacturer and Year Grieshaber Pens, Chicago -- 1920s.
Length 4-5/8"
Filling System "Coin" filler. The metal "hump" is notched at one end inside the barrel, and a locking device is rotated internally by means of the end knob. A tube is attached to the knob. It rotates so that the longer end of the tube engages the internal notch thereby preventing depression of the hump. As little as a quarter rotation moves the longest part of the lock out of the notch, freeing the hump to be pressed and compress the sac.
Color Black hard rubber.
Nib Full Flex FINE Grieshaber No.2 nib. Very finicky, we had to use Pelikan 4001 to be able to write without railroading. Please bear this in mind before purchasing. Don't expect to be able to write quickly! You're going to have to experiment with inks to get good results. Very soft feeling, the tines spread easily and you get line variation from fine to broad. Please see writing sample, below.
Condition Excellent + condition with no cracks, dents, chips, or dings. This is a somewhat short pen with good shine and a unique filling system. The only condition issue is s bit of fading. The cap and barrel have light wear; this does not impact the significant shininess of the pen. The bottom twist piece has some deep scratches. The imprints are clear.
