Product Description
Type Vintage "Ladies" cartridge/converter filling fountain pen.
Product Name Lady Sheaffer XI -- part of the Skripsert line.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- circa later 1950s or early 1960s.
Length 5-3/8".
Filling System This pen takes standard Sheaffer cartridges, and does not accept a converter. We will include a Sheaffer cartridge with the pen.
Color The body is black enamel over metal, with the detail in gold. We've heard this "Tulle" pattern described as crushed chicken wire.
Nib MEDIUM-FINE Triumph steel nib masked with gold. Firm and smooth. The masking on these nibs frequently flakes off.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, dents, or dings. This is a nicely shaped, stylish pen with classic patterning. There are some small marks in the gold detailing, and light scratching inside some of the black interiors but the pen is nice and shiny. The section is personalized with "KAY 11 TO 7" on the underside. There is a long scratch above the personalization; we have examined it closely and it is not a crack. The top side of the section has a mark on it - it almost looks like they started to engrave a K or an R on there but stopped (you can see it in the main photo below). It's filled with gold powder. The pen is working well.
