Product Description
Type Beautiful uncommon fountain pen.
Product Name Lady Sheaffer XVI -- part of the Skripsert (clipless) line.
Manufacturer and Year Sheaffer, made in USA -- 1958-64.
Length 5-7/16 inches
Filling System Takes standard Sheaffer cartridges. No converter is included. Many Lady Sheaffers do not accept converters, and we tried a few in this pen and none fit. We will include a good cartridge.
Color The body is light colored gold enamel in a moire pattern with matching cap and barrel bands that are separated by a rhinestone encrusted decorative band. The band protrudes from the rest of the pen and acts as a roll stop. The section is a red orange called mandarin red, and matches the color of the plastic inside the barrel.
Nib FINE short triumph style gold plated nib. Mild "Waverly" upturn on the tip.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a beautiful, elegant, shiny pen in a pretty color and with lots of shine and glint. The cap and barrel look great. It is nearly impossible to see scratches. There appears to be one scratch on the cap. The rhinestone encrusted decorative cap band is missing quite a few jewels and the ones remaining slide around in their grooves. There are no imprints.
