Product Description
Type Fountain pen with piston filling system
Product Name Lamy 2000
Manufacturer and Year Lamy, Germany -- Lamy introduced this pen in 1966 and has made minimal changes to the pen over the years. It's hard to date them though because the older features still appear in newer pens on occasion. The Lamy stamp is on the side of the clip on this pen. The section has ink viewing windows.
Length 5-9/16"
Filling System Piston filling system. We've tested it and it's working well. Guaranteed for a year from the date of purchase.
Color Black Makrolon (polycarbonate plastic reinforced with fiberglass). It has a stainless steel clip and a matte finish. The section is silver and there are oblong viewing windows.
Nib 14k gold which has been plated with platinum. We don't know the original intention of the nib grind, but it seems to have been narrowed and produces a fine line written at the normal orientation, and a needlepoint when flipped over. Please see writing sample.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a large pen that has good weight and that has an industrial appearance. The cap and barrel have light to moderate scratching and some light shiny marks. It must be said that this material makes it very difficult to see scratches, but upon close examination with magnification, there are some on this surface. The clip has moderate microscratching and some small light blotches. The imprint is clear.
