Product Description
Type Lever filler fountain pen
Product Name S.F. 2, as labeled on the cap.
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co. New York -- early 1920s (the rounded ends point toward this time period)
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working well.
Color Black "chased" hard rubber. The chasing has been smoothed down, but the shadows of the pattern remain in some places.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE #2 Mabie Todd & Co nib is in good condition, with nice tipping. It's smooth and VERY soft. Lina variation from extra fine to broad. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The chasing pattern is largely worn down, and there is some fading on both the cap and barrel. The clip has some brassing and roughness, but still does a great job of being a clip. The lever is brassed. The star of this pen is really the nib - it takes very little pressure to flex. There are several imprints on the pen. The one on the cap is very clear, and the 2 that are on the barrel (one in the middle of the barrel, another one at the end) are quite faded but still mostly readable. No cracks, chips, or big scratches. Fully restored and working well.
