Type Vintage lever filling fountain pen.
Product Name Swan Self Filling 3240, labeled near the end of the barrel.
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co. UK -- year unknown, probably the 1940s.
Length 4-15/16".
Filling System Lever filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Dark Green color with gold plated trim, and a black section. The color is very dark - it appears nearly black in hand, but once it's under direct sunlight or bright lighting you can see the green.
Nib FINE 14k Swan #2 nib is smooth with great tipping material. It's semi-flexible - see our writing sample below.
Condition Very nice condition. There is moderate scratching on the cap and barrel. The end of the barrel has shallow bite marks, and there are some deeper bite marks on the cap. The lever bar is brassed and pitted. The cap bands have a lot of brassing and plating wear. The clip has some light scratching and plating wear. There's a little brassing on the ball of the clip, and on the lever. No cracks or chips, dings or dents, or personalization. The imprints are all very clear and readable. The pen is fully restored and working well.
