Product Description
Type ring top fountain pen
Product Name Swan Pen, as imprinted on the end of the barrel. The US Swan pens do not have the excess of Swan imprints that the England variants do.
Manufacturer and Year Mabie Todd & Co. New York -- 1920s or 30s, the lack of gold imprint implies that it is early.
Length 3-3/4"
Filling System Lever filler. A new sac has been installed and it's working well.
Color Gold filled with alternating pattern of wavy angled slashes and lengthwise waves. The gold filled overlay is over black hard rubber which can be seen on the top of the section.
Nib FINE FLEXIBLE Mabie Todd & Co NY #2 nib. It is gold and flexes very easily. We didn't push the nib too much but based off of how soft and easily the tines spread more line variation is likely possible. Please see writing sample below.
Condition Superior condition. The barrel imprint is a little bit faded but the detailed patterning is very intact. There's some plating wear on the nib collar and the edges of the lever. No cracks, chips, dents, or major scratches. There are some cap marks on the end of the barrel and some extra polishing marks near the ring top of the cap. Fully restored and working well.
