Product Description
Type Vintage C/C filler fountain pen
Product Name Model 220P, we think. Most of the 220Ps we see referenced had a matte textured surface, and this one is definitely smooth. This model is described in Lambrou's "Fountain Pens of the World" on pg 268, but there's no picture of the specific model to compare. However, the nib section on this pen has a notched edge, where the 3xx pens usually had a more rounded edge, according to the pictures in Collectible Stars.
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany, 1970s
Length 5-5/16"
Filling System Cartridge/converter. A Montblanc converter is installed.
Color Black with gold plated trim. Gray viewing window.
Nib FINE 14K nib. Smooth and quite springy.
Condition Very Nice condition. No cracks, chips, dents, or dings. The cap has light scratching. There's a crack in the section, on the back side; it's visible in the reverse nib photo, on the left side. It didn't cause any problems when we tested the pen, but if you experience problems within the first year after purchasing, please contact us. The star on the top of the cap looks great. The star logo at the end of the barrel has some rough spots, as if someone picked at the edges, but it's largely intact. The barrel has light to moderate scratching. The cap band looks great. The clip has some brassing on the edges and high points. The imprints are clear.
