Product Description
Type Vintage piston filler fountain pen
Product Name Model 232 (written on the trim). This is the smallest of the 23X pens, marketed to women.
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1940s. You'll find the 232 pens with 14k and with steel nibs, the steel nibs indicating wartime production. The two cap bands were phased out.
Length 4-9/16" long - this was the shortest of the 23x pens
Filling System Piston filler. We used a Conklin Nozak O-ring on the piston head, and the filling system is working very well.
Color Black with gold plated trim and a red-orange tinted viewing window. It has the Montblanc logo on the cap.
Nib MEDIUM steel semi-flexible #2 nib. Line variation from fine to medium-broad. Please see our writing sample. There is some pitting on the top surface of the nib, but it's working very well.
Condition Excellent condition. The pen is dark and shiny, in a classic small style. The cap rings have some light brassing. There is a spot of brassing on the top of the clip; the clip ring has some plating wear. Light handwear and scratching. The imprint on the cap looks great, with lots of the white paint in the grooves. The imprints on the blind cap look great. The white star logo on the top of the cap looks great with just a bit of ambering.
