Product Description
Type Cartridge/converter filling fountain pen
Product Name Meisterstuck Classique R, the model name changed from 144 to Classique in the 1990s. Since it doesn't say 144 on the cap band, it should be a Classique but the box identifies it as a 144R. The "R" indicates Bordeaux.
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- Early 1990s, based off the imprints. The cap band doesn't say 144 and the clip band says "Germany" which means it is from the 1990s, but the barrel has a W-Germany sticker and the box says 144R so we know it is close to the transition between "W-Germany" and "Germany" and between "144R" and "Classique."
Length 5-3/8".
Filling System Takes Montblanc cartridges and converters. A Montblanc piston converter is installed. There is some variation between "standard" international cartridges and converters. Most short cartridges should fit but the converters are trickier to match. There is also an unused short cartridge in the box.
Color Bordeaux with gold plated trim.
Nib FINE Montblanc 14k nib marked 4810. It's slightly springy and smooth with nice tipping material. The barrel sticker has an "F" on it for fine.
Condition Near Mint condition. The pen looks brand new. There is a little bit of green ink staining in the converter so we know the pen has been used but otherwise we'd never know. The trim looks great and the imprints are clear. The pen has two original barrel stickers and ships in a Montblanc box with paperwork. We are pretty sure it is the original box
