Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Model 149
Manufacturer and Year Montblanc, Germany -- 1970s. It looks like it has a replacement barrel from the 1980s or it was a 1980s pen with 1960s/70s parts. Both are possible. The round ebonite with grooved face feed was used from 1965-72. The nib was used mostly in the 1960s but there is evidence that it was used in the 70s as well.
Length 5-7/8"
Filling System Piston filler. It's been cleaned and tested and is working well.
Color Black barrel with gold plated trim.
Nib MEDIUM CURSIVE ITALIC 18k Nib. The nib is a very springy tri-tone 18C Montblanc 4810 nib. Please see the writing sample below. The pen has a round ebonite with grooved face feed.
Condition Excellent condition. The trim looks really great. Most of the wear shows in a slightly worn imprint on the nib and what might be a tiny dent from the stamping process on the M on the nib as well. The Germany imprint on the cap is a little weak as well. The trim and black have normal handwear. No cracks, scratches, or dents on the pen. The plastic piston seal and the viewing window are very clear.
