Type Vintage piston filler fountain pen
Product Name Monte Rosa 042 Reflex, the Monte Rosa is on the nib and the 042 is on the piston knob. (The 042G had a gold nib, whereas this pen is the plan 042 with a gold plated steel nib.). Reflex is on the cap, indicating it was a model made for export to a country where "Monte Rosa" was already claimed as a brand name. Color Black with gold plated trim. It has a scalloped patterned cap band and a blue tinted viewing window.
Nib FINE Monte Rosa steel nib with gold plating. There is an F mark on the piston knob.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a dark black shiny pen that is on the small side. The barrel has mainly light scratching with one patch of moderate microscratching. The blue viewing window is bright and clear. The cap has light to some moderate scratching. The scalloped cap band is sweet looking with some moderate microscratching. The clip has dots of plating wear particularly near the end. The clip ring has quite a bit of plating wear. All imprints are clear.
