Product Name Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas. See the Montblanc page on this pen model. This ballpoint is number 10986/16000 N (marked near the top of the cap. The N means that this is a "corrected" replacement cap). The Dumas model had an initial design error where it included the wrong Alexandre Dumas's signature on the cap. Filling System The ballpoint pen uses a twist mechanism and takes Montblanc ballpoint refills. A working black refill is installed.
Color Black cap, section, and end piece with a white marble body. It has lots of gold plated trim and the fine bands have designs. Alexandre Dumas's (the correct one, by the father) signature is to the right of the clip.
Condition Near mint condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a beautifully designed and elegant pen that is substantial and impressive. The marbling is reallly gorgeous -- it has some light wear but no noticeable scratches. The cap has light wear and a light scratch below the signature. The numbering and signature are perfectly intact. The black area and cone have light wear. The ornate gold bands and pieces outlining the marbling look beautiful. The cap band is excellent. The clip is lovely. The clip band has some microscratching. The imprints are clear.
