Color This is the Kuro-tamenuri finish. It appears black at first glance, but under good light the red underlayer of lacquer peeps out, especially on the edges where the dark color is thinner. Over time, the red color becomes more prominent. which is black urushi with some red accent colors on edges, where the top layers were polished away. These pens are intended to age well and become more colorful as the years go by.

Condition Excellent condition. The clip has some minor scratches, but nothing that damages the plating. The section has scratching around the front, nearest the nib, which can be seen in the photos. The rest of the pen is shiny and glossy with minimal scratches.
