Product Description
Type Classic style fountain pen
Product Name We are judging this to be the older style faceted Paragon pen, aka 557/F "Black", though it is not marked. (The 557 refers to the length and F refers to the facets.)
Manufacturer and Year Omas, Italy -- 1997-2000s (1997 is when Omas brought back their roller clip).
Length 5-9/16" -- this was the largest pen at the time and considered a Paragon model. It is smaller than the current Paragons which debuted in 2005, and a bit bigger than the current Milords.
Filling System Piston filler has been tested and is working well.
Color A black barrel and cap made of natural cotton resin. The barrel and cap have gold trim and are 12-faceted. The cap band has a Greek key pattern.
Nib 18k Fine nib.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap has light scratching. There is a splotch of brassing at the top of the clip, which is visible in the photos. The cap lip has some tiny rough spots, but no cracks or chips. The barrel has mostly light scratching and handwear, with a bit of heavier scratching towards the end from posting the cap. The trim ring between the barrel and piston knob looks great, with no plating wear or pitting. The cap imprint is clear.
