Product Description
Type Fountain pen which fills via piston system.
Product Name Paragon "The Cinema" limited edition (808/3890). This pen was released to celebrate the 100 years of film. The gray celluloid represents the colors of the first black and white films, as well as the material used for the new medium. The cap band is engraved with images of an old cinema machine and film reel. The packaging was made to resemble old film canisters (note that the little plastic brackets in the box that originally held the pen have been broken.)
Manufacturer and Year Omas, Italy .... circa 1995.
Length 5-1/2"
Filling System Piston system is employed by turning the knob on the end of the barrel. The piston works fine.
Color Gray celluloid with 18k rolled gold trim.
Nib 18k medium nib is two tone and springy. It says M on the nib.
Condition Excellent condition in box, with paperwork. The skinny band at the end of the barrel has some brassing from posting, but the cap band and clip look great. The section is engraved with the serial number 0808.
During our inspection and testing we noted a hairline crack in the nib collar (the piece that holds the nib and feed together and screws into the section). We have tested the pen and there are no leaks, but this is a weakness of Omas pens in general and removing and installing the nib unit could cause this crack to worsen and eventually leak. Beyond this, the pen is in excellent condition. There is microscratching and hand usage all over, but no cracks or major scratches.
