Filling System Piston system is employed by turning the knob on the end of the barrel. The piston works fine.
Color Rich blue vegetal resin with gold plated trim. The clip has three sections to represent the entrance to the third millenium and the cap band has a Greek coliseum pattern on it.
Nib Broad 18k nib which has been customized to add more line variation, so it writes like a medium italic. More line variation is avaialble when writing at a more upright angle. It's marked B and is quite springy. See the writing sample below. The Lupa Capitolina (Capitoline Wolf) symbol is on the nib.
Condition Excellent + condition with lots of the Roma 2000 packaging including the shell pen box with Fontana delle Api medallion, clip tag, and velvet pen sleeve. There's some light plating wear, particularly on the edge of the cap band but the gold is mostly intact. There's light handwear on the resin. It's clear that the pen is pre-owned and has been used, but it looks very sharp and is a great writer. No cracks, chips, or scratches.
