Product Description
Type Vintage piston fountain pen and mechanical pencil set, working perfectly.
Product Name Osmia 882 fountain pen and Osmia 203 Mechanical Pencil
Manufacturer and Year Osmia, Germany -- late 1940's - early 1950's. Each piece has "RWA" imprinted on it, and we understand that was the Dutch importer Rikkers.
Length Fountain pen: 4-13/16"; Mechanical pencil: 4-15/16"
Filling System The pen is a piston filler. Turn the end knob to advance and retract the piston. We have replaced the cork seal and it's working well. The mechanical pencil takes 1.1mm leads.
Color Burgundy marble (shimmery pink champagne, burgundy, and black marbling, tending toward the darker shades), with gold plated trim. Both the pen and pencil are personaled with initials RWA.
Nib 14k Flexible Fine nib. It has great tipping and writes smoothly with respectable line variation. It is labeled F near the end of the barrel. Please see the writing sample below. The nib is labeled #2.
Condition Excellent + condition. No cracks, chips, dings, or dents. This set has beautiful marbling and deep coloring. The fountain pen has only light scratching with a horizontal scratch just above the piston turner at the end of the barrel. The cap band has significant plating wear (see photo). The clip looks great. The mechanical pencil looks excellent with just some light scratching and with one long curved scratch line. There are some small marks on the cone of the pencil. The imprints are all clear.
