Product Description
Type Lever filled fountain pen with nicely flexible nib
Product Name Paramount according to the cap imprint.
Manufacturer and Year We've heard various rumors about Paramount. This is not the Paramount brand associated with Wahl, as it is marked made in England. Another bit of info suggests that it was a product of Mentmore Pen company, which is more likely because that was an English maker. Made in England. Circa 1920's.
Length A little under 5-1/4"
Filling System Lever filler, restored here at PSP with a new sac.
Color Black hard rubber, gold plated trim.
Nib Medium-Fine flexible Paramount 14K "1st Quality" nib. Flexes to double broad. See writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition. The cap and barrel are in relatively good condition, with handwear and light scratching, but no cracks or chips. The cap material is faded twards the top. The clip is brassed and has some pitting. The cap band is also very brassed. The lever has a fair bit of plating wear. The star here however is the nib - it flexes easily from a fine to a double-broad. The imprint is worn, but the bottom line stating "Made in England" is easily readable.
