Product Description
Type Ballpoint pen
Product Name Parker 180 Place Vendome, based off of the trim and pattern.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, France -- 1980-83, the pattern was introduced in 1980 and gold nibs were discontinued in 1983.
Length The fountain pen is 5-1/4" and the ballpoint pen is 5"
Filling System The fountain pen takes Parker-style cartridges and converters. A squeeze converter is installed. The ballpoint pen takes Parker-style ballpoint refills. A working black refill is installed.
Color The "Ecorce" is a bark or brush marked like pattern in gold plating. The Place Vendome series of designs were all gold plated. This is sometimes also called a basket weave pattern. It has a dish tassie and a long arrow clip.
Nib FINE 14k nib. The Parker 180 nibs were meant to be reversible with two nib sizes. This pen is reversible but only has "F" written on the underside. This indicates that it writes like a Fine on both sides.
Condition Excellent condition. The ballpoint pen has small splotch of plating wear on the cone whereas the fountain pen has one small pitting mark to the left of the clip. Both have small dings on the bark patterning and dents on the edges of the tassies. The ballpoint pen has additional plating wear on the tassie. They look good in hand and ship in a velvet covered Parker box (the box has a few blemishes left by a rubber band).
