Product Description
Type Vintage squeeze filling fountain pen in an uncommon color.
Product Name Parker 51 Aerometric.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA – 1948 (the imprint is clear, date code is an 8 with no dots indicating it's from the fourth quarter of 1948).
Length Just a tiny bit under 5-3/8".
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system.
Color The color is Plum, one of the more uncommon Parker 51 colors. It has a 1/10 12k gold filled cap in a pattern of converging lines, an arrow clip, and a pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib FINE 14k gold nib is smooth with lovely tipping, verging on the extra fine.
Condition Excellent + condition. There are scratches around the nib opening, as well as at the end of the barrel. There is microscratching on the rest of the barrel and section. There are some small scratches on the cap and a small dent near the upper edge of the cap. There are small spots of brassing on the ridge and corners of the clip, and tiny ones on the tassie ring as well. The pearlescent jewel looks great. There's some wear on the chrome plated filling system, but nothing that affects its use. No cracks, chips, or personalization. The imprints are quite clear and it's working very well.
