Product Description
Type Hard to find ballpoint
Product Name This early model was called the Parker 51 Jotter Deluxe .... it's identified as the earliest version by the metal threads attached to the barrel. Later models moved the threads to the cap, which screwed into the plastic barrel. You'll find English Parker 51 ballpoints, and Parker 51 Mark 3 ballpoints (metal cap jewel, skinny Parker-61-like clip), but the early American-made ballpoints are extremely hard to find. Most of the ballpoints on eBay which claim to be Parker 51s are one of these two kinds, if not in fact Parker 61 ballpoints. This ballpoint has a short arrow clip and pearlescent cap jwel, which those do not.
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA, introduced in 1954
Length 5-1/16"
Filling System It takes Parker ballpoint refills. You'll need to use genuine Parker refills, as we discovered that refills made by other manufacturers which they claim to be Parker compatible will not work in this early P51 Jotter.
Color Navy grey with a steel "Lustraloy" cap, pearlescent jewels
Condition Excellent working condition, with some wear. No dents or dings in the cap, no cracks or scratches on the barrel. There's handwear and shiny marks on the cap. The threaded metal part of the barrel shows some wear to the plated surface from usage. This pen is cap activated and you push down on the cap to extend and retract the tip. The mechanism works well.
