Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Oversized Parker 51 Aerometric called a "Magnum".... not a model ever made by Parker!
Manufacturer and Year Parker and Ariel Kullock - the pen was assembled using a combination of Parker new old stock parts and re-manufactured parts. New barrel/hood, oversized Lustraloy cap by Kullock. Filling system, clip and nib unit are original P51 parts. The clip looks like an original P51 clip that was welded/soldered onto a wider tassie to match the oversized cap.
Length 6"
Filling System Aerometric squeeze filling system. Tested and working well.
Color Black barrel and section. The cap is a lustraloy cap with a gold plated clip and pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib BROAD 14k hooded nib. This nib was made by Parker, but probably re-tipped. See photo of nib below .... it has a shaved area and a rectangular hole which we don't really understand, possibly it was customized to better fit the hood and collector.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a velvety black, shiny pen that is large in size and impressive in appearance. The barrel has mainly light scratching with some cluster scratches at and just below the cap lip. The cap looks nice and satin-y with some microscratching present. The clip and clip ring have plating wear with gold still showing prominently. The clip has a nice top feature where there is some pitting. The cap jewel is excellent. No imprints.
