Product Description
Type Mechanical pencil with the "repeater" mechanism.
Product Name Parker 51
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA - (1950s -- no date code)
Length Standard size pencil, 5-3/16"
Filling System Takes 0.9mm (or "thin") leads, which it extends by the cap-actuated, or "repeater" method - you click the cap down to extend a lead, very similar to modern day mechanical pencils. The mechanism is working but is a bit stiff.
Color Burgundy body with a 1/10 12k gold cap in a concave lines pattern. Arrow clip and a pearlescent cap jewel. The burgundy looks dark in the photos, but it is a true burgundy.
Condition Very nice condition with no cracks, chips, dents or dings. This is a pretty, shiny mechanical pencil with a regal color scheme. The barrel has light to moderate scratching. The cone looks excellent. The cap has plating wear along the bottom edge and there is some pitting in between the lines at the top of the cap. It has two dents to the right of the clip. The clip has plating wear around the edges. The imprints are clear.
