Color Burgundy body, brushed steel (Lustraloy) cap with an Arrow clip. Pearlescent cap jewel.
Nib Nice and smooth writing fine gold nib. There's lots of iridium.
Condition Excellent condition. There is light to moderate scratching at the end of the barrel, corresponding to the area where the cap is posted. The imprint just below the clutch ring is slightly worn, but still readable. Moderate scratching on the section hood, but no cracks or chips. The cap has microscratching, but it generally blends into the brushed surface fairly well. The clip looks good along the sides, but there are two tiny spots of plating wear near the arrow, visible in the photo below and under magnification; it still looks quite nice in hand. There is also the beginnings of plating wear in the fletching portion of the arrow. We replaced the diaphragm, so the filling system should work well for years to come (we guarantee it for a year from the date of purchase). This is a handsome example of the classic Parker 51 Vacumatic.
