Product Description
Type Restored vintage fountain pen
Product Name Parker 51 Custom Vacumatic ("Custom" refers to the cap design.) The cap is rolled gold, so it was probably made in England, while the barrel is marked USA.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1948 (The date code is a clear 8 with no dots).
Length Full size pen, 5-3/8"
Filling System Piston/plunger (Vacumatic) filling system. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working well. It has the later vacumatic plastic plunger system which is the correct plunger. We guarantee the filling system for one year from the date of purchase.
Color Black body with a 1/10 12k rolled gold cap. The cap has a pattern of converging lines and a pearlescent cap jewel. The clip is in the shape of an arrow (one of the "transitional" clips you see from 1947 and 1948).
Nib MEDIUM-FINE gold nib is smooth and very symmetrical.
Condition Excellent + condition. There is some wear on the edges of the clip and along the spine. The barrel imprint is somewhat legible. The patterning is quite nice on the cap, with no dents or dings. It has been fully restored and is working very well.
There is a very subtle personalization on the barrel. It reads "H MACIEL", and is a bit difficult to see.
