Color Black bodies. The fountain pen has 1/10 14k gold filled, lined cap. The mechanical pencil has 1/10 16k gold filled lined cap. The cap jewel are pearlized. Both pieces are personalized: "Mrs. Chester Houston, Abbott Study Club, 1947-1949."
Nib Fine gold nib.
Condition Excellent condition, in original Parker '51 box, with no cracks, dents, or dings. This is a classic pen and pencil set in a nice color combination and with some obvious history behind it. Both pieces are personalized on the black barrels, "Mrs. Chester Houston, Abbott Study Club, 1947-1948." The fountain pen section has scratch marks made by the cap. The barrrel has moderate wear, especially toward the end of the barrel and on the blind cap. The gold lined cap has a lot of microscratching, but no dents. The clip has moderate scratching and plating wear along the edges of the feathers. The clip ring has one medium size pit and plating wear along the top edge. The pearly jewel has light scratch marks. The mechanical pencil has moderate scratching on the black barrel with a few long, deep scratches. The lined gold cap has microscratching along with a few small to medium scratch lines. The clip has plating wear along the edges of the arrow and along the edges of the feathers. The clip ring has a few dots of pitting and plating wear on the upper edge. The pearly jewel has a tad of mottling and some light scratches. The personalization is clear. The imprint on the fountain pen is readable.
