Product Description
Type Oversized fountain pen with a rare 18k overlay.
Product Name Parker Duofold ... this is the full length version, with a French 18k "continental" overlay.
Manufacturer and Year Parker USA - Early 1920s. The base model was given a solid gold overlay in France.
Length 5-1/2" inches.
Filling System Button filler. Excellent filling system with a new sac. We guarantee the filling system for a year from the date of purchase.
Color 18k overlay with French eagle hallmarks on the cap and barrel. Barrel and cap have barleycorn pattern panels alternating with lined panels. Top finial and button cover are also gold.
Nib Medium Parker Lucky Curve #2 nib. It will produce lines from medium-fine to broad without much pressure. See our writing sample in the photos. The nib has the "Christmas Tree" feed, but we found when we re-sacked the pen that the "Lucky Curve" feed had been cut off. This was very commonly done during restoration, both by the Parker service department as well as individual restorers.
Condition Superior condition. The cap and barrel have a few really small impressions, hardly dents at all, and only visible from certain angles. There are some marks toward the end of the barrel caused by posting, and some marks on the barrel caused by the cap lip. The cap lip is excellent, only a few marks (our photos have some reflections along the cap lip that look like dents, but the cap opening is very round with only subtle variations.) No personalization. It's quite a gorgeous looking pen, impressively preserved, and working very well. The box is in great condition, with working hinges and latch.
