Product Description
Type Vintage Vacumatic-filling fountain pen.
Product Name Duofold Vacumatic, aka "Duovac" Pen, the pen is the Junior (Engenue) size.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- 1940s (no date code)
Length 4-13/16" (Engenue size)
Filling System Vacumatic filler. It might originally have had an aluminum Speedline filler, which was replaced by the plastic version. We've restored the filling system with a new diaphragm and it's working perfectly.
Color Green and brown (alternating with dark transluscent stripes) body and cap, with gold plated trim, two thin cap bands, and a black cap jewel.
Nib Flexible stub gold Parker Pen nib made in Canada. Please see writing sample showing the writing with flex and without flex. We see a small hairline crack at the very base of the nib, but this does not affect the writing in any way. This crack cannot be seen in the photos, it is well below the last row of printing. We caution you not to pull the nib and feed, or it could worsen the crack, and we would not be able to give you a refund.
Condition Excellent condition with no cracks, chips, dents, or dings. This is a colorful, classically designed pen with nice light coming through the barrel (good transparency). The cap and barrel have light to moderate scratching. The barrel has marks caused by the cap lip. The cap bands have light plating wear and a tad of pitting on the top band. The clip has some small amount of plating wear and brassing along the top. The black jewel looks nice. The imprints are clear.
