Type Vintage fountain pen in excellent working condition
Product Name Parker Duofold Vacumatic filler aka "Duovac". This is the "Major" model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker - 1940 (The imprint "0" on the barrel is very good.)
Length 5-1/8" long
Filling System Vacumatic filler, with the aluminum "Speedline" filler. We replaced the diaphragm and thoroughly tested the filling system, and it is in perfect working condition.
Color Red and gray alternating with clear stripes body and cap with gold filled trim. Cap band 3/16" wide.
Nib FINE 14k nib is smooth and fairly firm, with lots of tipping material in evidence. Marked PARKER PEN MADE IN USA.
Condition Excellent condition. There is a fine 1/8" crack in the cap lip, which stops short of the cap band. The rest of the cap has light to moderate scratching. The cap band has tiny dots of pitting in the upper and lower grooves. The clip has some plating wear and brassing along the sides and around the jewel. Cap jewel has some small scratches. The section has some deep tooth marks, and there are also tooth marks on the blind cap. The barrel has marks from the cap lip, and light to moderate scratching. There is a small chip in the edge of the barrel end jewel. The imprint is slightly worn, but still readable. The pen is working very well.
THIS PEN SHOULD NOT BE POSTED, and we cannot accept a return if the crack is made worse by the customer, as it is virtually imperceptible now but it won't stay that way if the cap is posted.
