Product Description
Type fountain pen, ballpoint pen and key case in box
Product Name Parker "Super 21" -- this is the hard to find "Flighter" model with a brushed stainless steel caps and bodies. The sections of these Flighters were made of colored plastic in 5 different colors. The end of the body is a little squared-off with a gentle dome, as opposed to the all plastic Super 21 bodies which have a rounded end.
This listing includes a matching ballpoint pen and a leather key case.
Manufacturer and Year Parker introduced the Super 21 in 1956 and made them up until 1965. We believe the Flighters were produced in the 1960s. They were a definite improvement on the standard model 21, because the Super featured the same tubular octanium nib as the 51 Special and the 41. They also have a smaller exposed oval feed area than the regular 21, similar to the 51. The clip is fancier too, and similar to the one used on the 45.
The pens were made in the USA, and the key case was made in England.
Length Fountain pen 5-3/16"; ballpoint pen 5-1/16"
Filling System The fountain pen has an aerometric squeeze filler. The ballpoint pen takes regular Parker refills, which are readily available.
Color "Satin Lustraloy" caps and bodies, with a black section on the fountain pen.
Nib Alloy nib seems to be a fine, though it is not marked. I have compared it visually to Super 21s which have been marked, and I am fairly confident it is a fine.
Condition PERFECT NEW OLD STOCK. The fountain pen is in absolutely perfect condition, just as new. It has never been inked or dipped. It is incredibly shiney and clean. It is guaranteed to work perfectly. The ballpoint pen is also perfect. The key case is still in the plastic. The Parker box is also in excellent condition.
