Product Description
Type Vintage button filling fountain pen.
Product Name Duette Jr. fountain pen from one of the so-called "Thrift Time" series. The barrel is inscribed "Buster Brown Shoes Brown bilt Shoes" and "Geo. S Parker - PARKER - made in U.S.A." Probably a shoe store promotion, we've seen more than one Parker from this era co-branded with the Buster Brown imprint.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in USA -- Great Depression Era.
Length 4-9/16".
Filling System Button filler. We've restored it with a new sac and it's working very well.
Color Black and bronze marbled celluloid with gold plated trim, a thin cap band, and a metal clip-screw.
Nib MEDIUM gold nib is marked Parker Pen Made In USA 46, indicating that it was made in the 4th quarter of 1936. It's smooth with great tipping material and has just a little give to it. These pens are usually given a date range of 1932 to 1934, so this nib might be a replacement.
Condition Excellent condition. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. Very little brassing on the trim, which is rather rare for these models where they really economized on the plating. The imprint is complete and readable. We've fully restored it and it's working well.
