Product Description
Type Fountain pen
Product Name Vacumatic Major ... this is the end of the double jewel era.
Manufacturer and Year Parker - 1941 (The imprint on the barrel is very clear. The date mark on the nib is not visible.)
Length 5-5/16 inches (Major size).
Filling System Vacumatic speedline filler. We've fully restored the filling system and it's working well.
Color Azure blue pearl body and cap with gold plated trim and double jewels. Fairly good visibility through the body.
Nib MEDIUM 14k Parker #28 nib. Lots of tipping material in evidence. It's quite firm and smooth. It was probably two-tone to begin with, but most of the masking has worn off.
Condition Excellent condition, no chips, cracks. There are some very small, light scratches in the cap and lower barrel. The trim looks quite nice, though there are some small spots of brassing roung the tip of the clip, it's edges, and the gold rings around the two jewels on the ends of the pen (see photos). The imprint is readable. The pen is really quite beautiful, and working very well after our restoration process.
