Product Description
Type Vintage vacumatic filling fountain pen, restored and working well.
Product Name Vacumatic Junior Debutante (this is the smallest size of vacumatic). It differs from sub-debs in that the jewels are striped, and the nibs are two-toned, indicating the Debutante is an upscale model.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, made in Canada -- 1938 (the date code is a clear 8 with one dot ). Most of the first generation "Slender" pens with lockdown fillers were phased out circa 1937, but we suspect they continued production in Canada for a while.
Length 4-3/4 inches.
Filling System Vacumatic Speedline filler. We've restored it with a new diaphragm and it's working very well. We'll include a handout on the use of this filling system.
Color Golden pearl color with gold filled trim, three thin cap bands, and a striped jewel on the top and bottom of the pen.
Nib FLEXIBLE FINE gold two-tone Parker Arrow style nib is smooth and firm with lovely tipping material. The masking is quite worn but has no effect on its writing. See the writing sample below.
Condition Excellent condition +. The cap bands have no plating wear. There are some small scratches and marks on the cap and barrel. No cracks or chips, dings, dents, or personalization. The barrel clarity is lovely, and the imprint is clear. The pen has been fully restored and is working very well.
