Product Description
Type Fountain Pen
Product Name Parker Vacumatic Junior -- The Shadow Wave colors were only made as Juniors and Junior Debutantes. This is the larger size. This is the 2nd generation of Shadow Wave pens, with the long blind cap.
Manufacturer and Year Parker, USA -- 1942 (the date code is a clear 2 with one dot).
Length 5-1/8"
Filling System Vacumatic filling system. We have fully restored the system, and will guarantee it for a year. It has a replacement late plastic plunger instead of the original aluminum Speedline plunger.
Color Usually abbreviated to "Brown Shadow Wave," it is also called, "Golden Brown Pearl Shadow Wave." The pen has alternating lengthwise stripes of semi-transparent amber and a gradient of browns. It has a black blind cap, and black end jewels. Gold plated trim with a blue diamond clip and a jeweler's band 5/16" wide. This model only had the jeweler's band in 1942 and unusually has the blue diamond clip.
Nib Medium gold nib is unmarked, but appears to be medium. It's fairly firm, with good tipping. The nib is dated for 1953 so it is a replacement.
Condition Superior condition. There are two shallow microscratches that mar the barrel but otherwise it looks beautiful. The imprint is very sharp and clear. The nib shows light wear and there is some brassing on the gold plated cap bands and clip. The transparency is very strong throughout. No dents, cracks, chips, or major scratches.
